#2025-51807/West Precinct/First Watch:
At 0346 hours, inclement weather throughout the night and exceeding winds caused a tree to uproot and fall on power lines along the 2100 block of Aurora Av N. The weight of the tree ripped down the live electrical wires causing an explosion and an active fire. Seattle Fire Department and Seattle Police responded to secure the scene and diverted southbound traffic from the Aurora bridge. Seattle City Light arrived to evaluate the situation and repair the damage. SDOT Incident Response relieved SPD of traffic control, just in time to open a lane of travel for morning rush hour traffic.
#2025-52062/North Precinct/Second Watch:
At 0930 hours a victim was spit on and called a racial slur by an unknown suspect. The victim requested a phone report. After taking the report by phone, Officers responded to the scene and conducted an investigation. The suspect was GOA, no arrest was made. SPD Lt. was notified.
#2025-52384/North Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1457 hours, North patrol received multiple calls regarding a man walking on Aurora Avenue N while brandishing a firearm. Officers located the suspect at a business on Aurora Av. The suspect was carrying a black handgun. Officers detained the suspect without incident. Upon further investigation, officers determined that he threatened one person with the firearm and he brandished it at several other people. Suspect was arrested and booked into the King County Jail for Felony Harassment and Unlawful use of weapons to intimidate another.
