Seattle police officers have arrested a 17-year-old boy linked to at least 10 dangerous armed robberies that occurred in late February.

In each of the robberies, a gun was drawn, and clerks were frightened as either cash, merchandise or tobacco products were stolen from gas stations, pizza shops or stores.

The robberies took place from Feb. 21 until Feb. 24. In one of the robberies on Feb. 21 in the 1800 block of South Jackson Street, a pizza shop clerk told Seattle police the suspect pulled out a gun, grabbed him by his uniform, put a gun to his stomach and demanded money from the register.

In another armed robbery incident on Feb. 22 at about 10 p.m. in the 9600 block of Renton Avenue South, suspects pointed guns at a convenience store clerk ordering them to hand over money. The incident scared the clerk to the point that he ran outside of the store to a nearby driver asking them to call 911.

Community tips as well as physical, video, and digital evidence helped Seattle police detectives in the Robbery Unit track down the suspect.

The 17-year-old suspect was arrested for robbery on March 6 in Redmond. The arrest was made in partnership with Bellevue and Redmond police departments. The teen was booked into the Judge Patricia H. Clark Children & Family Justice Center.

The investigations into all the armed robberies are ongoing.
