#2025-65396/Southwest Precinct/Third Watch:
At 0231 hours, in the SW Precinct area, the victim and suspect got into an argument, and the suspect got angry and strangled the victim. She reported that there was a firearm inside the apartment. Officers arrived and had her exit the apartment prior to arrival. Officers set up a tactical plan to have the suspect exit the apartment. Officers called the suspect out from a distance. The suspect exited the apartment with a backpack on her back and was placed in custody. The backpack contained a firearm. The suspect was booked into KCJ and ERPO paperwork was completed.
#2025-65577/North Precinct/First Watch:
At 0843 hours, a juvenile male assaulted his stepmother and ultimately broke her finger. The juvenile fled the scene and was not located. Approx. one hour later the juvenile returned and assaulted his stepmother again while attempting to take a knife from the kitchen. The suspect fled again prior to police arriving. Additional resources (containment, K9, and Guardian 1) called to the scene due to the escalating behavior and seriousness of the assaults. Just prior to starting the K9 track a citizen located the juvenile hiding under a vehicle nearby where he was taken into custody without incident.
#2025-65563/West Precinct/First Watch:
At 0826 hours, a city parks employee from UCT was conducting an obstruction route to attempt to get compliance to clear tents from the sidewalks. Upon arriving at 6th Avenue and Cherry Street, he asked one of the campers if the tent was his and to see if he would pack up his belongings and vacate the area. The camper became agitated, took a fighting stance, and confronted the employee. The camper then swung a punch at the employee’s face, but the employee managed to dodge it. A struggle ensued, and both fell to the ground. The suspect continued throwing punches, striking the employee in the head multiple times. The employee was able to break free and called 911. Patrol officers and AR Team members responded and took the suspect into custody without incident. The suspect was booked into KCJ.
#2025-65849/Southwest Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1324 hours, a group of high school students were on a tour of a community college when unidentified students dared another student to set fire to something in an auditorium. The suspect waited until the auditorium was empty and then proceeded to set fire to a flag/pole. Campus staff smelled the smoke and responded. Security extinguished the fire with no further property damage beyond the lingering smell of smoke and fire extinguisher chemical. The suspect was identified and later released to a parent. ABS was advised of the incident.
#2025-65830/North Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1312 hours, A planned demonstration at a Starbucks regarding unionization of employees took place in the University District. Approximately 50-60 protestors blocked University Way NE and 6-7 trespassers went inside the business and refused to leave. Car 22 initiated a partial task force response due to the trespassers and the blocked roadway. POET arrived and very quickly was able to get the demonstrators to clear the street and move to the sidewalk. The trespassers also eventually left the store after speaking with POET and employees were able to lock up and close for the day. No arrests were made, and all demonstrators were gone when SPD cleared the scene.
#2025-66317/South Precinct/Third Watch:
At 2315 hours, officers were dispatched to an armed robbery at a gas station in SODO. Officers contacted the caller, who reported that an armed suspected entered the store and took the cash register. The caller stated that the suspect left on foot. The suspect was not located. Robbery screened the incident.
#2025-66020/South Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1600 hours, South Precinct Officers responded to a call for shots fired at an intersection. Once they arrived on scene, several F.C.C.’s were located in the intersection and multiple witnesses were interviewed. Several witnesses heard the shots fired but did not see the actual suspects shooting. A possible silver sedan was involved. No victims or property damage were located.
#2025-66271/North Precinct/Third Watch:
At 2122 hours, officers responded to an armed robbery at a 7-11 in B3. Officers arrived and contacted the clerk/victim who stated the suspect entered the store and immediately pointed a firearm at the victim. The suspect jumped the counter and took money from the register. The suspect then fled the store westbound on foot. The victim believes the same suspect robbed the store on at least two prior occasions. After a thorough area check and K9 track the suspect was not located and likely fled in a vehicle per previous robberies.
#2025-66223/East Precinct/Third Watch:
At 2009 hours, unknown suspect entered the business and began calling the victim anti-gay slurs and walked over to a pride flag that was displayed inside the business and ripped it off the wall. The suspect then left the business, returned with a metal pole, and continued yelling anti-gay slurs towards the victim but no direct threats were made. A witness observed the same unknown suspect walked into the adjacent Starbucks and rip their pride flag off the wall prior to this incident as well. Area check was completed for the suspect, and they were not located.
