#2025-79532/East Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1238 hours, officers responded to a call for service at a grocery store located at MLK Jr Wy and E Union St. Employees were reporting a robbery that just occurred with a firearm implied. Officers arrived on scene and quickly established containment. Employees reported that three juvenile suspects attempted to steal 50 dollars’ worth of items and when staff retrieved the items after a brief struggle, the suspects implied they had a firearm and fled westbound. K-9 arrived on scene and conducted an outstanding track of the suspects, leading back to the entrance of Garfield Highschool were the track ended. Robbery and CAR24 notified.
#2025-79536/West Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1243 hours, West Precinct officers were conducting a directed patrol near 12th Avenue S and King Street. Suspect was observed selling narcotics and taken into custody. Search incident to arrest, 4.4g of Methamphetamine and 0.9g Fentanyl packaged for sell were located along with $57. Suspect was booked into YSC.
#2025-79279/West Precinct/Second Watch:
At 0811 hours, Officers were dispatched to an investigation of property damage at a local business office building. The building property manager had called to report that one week prior, they were informed of a window that had been broken and had a noticeable bullet hole. In the following days several additional windows were identified with the same damage – totaling (7) entry points. The timeframes for the damage were determined to be after office hours between 8PM-4AM in the last week. Officers conducted an area check and spoke with property management from nearby buildings, but no reports of shots fired or related disturbances were reported. GVRU and 213 were notified of the incident.
#2025-79877/North Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1749 hours, SFD was responding to an illegal burn call which SPD was not aware of. Fire initially asked SPD to assist with a “Trespass”. Shortly after that SFD called for an SPD “expedited response” as a subject was jumping on their fire apparatus beating on the windows and trying to force his way inside. On SPD arrival the suspect fled and was captured after a brief foot pursuit. While in-custody the suspect damaged the interior of the police car to the extent it must be taken out of service for repairs. Suspect had a warrant for a weapons violation and was flagged in NCIC as a violent offender and serious threat to law enforcement officers. Suspect rejected by KCJ for being too agitated. Suspect under guard at HMC until they will be booked into jail.
