Update: Man Wanted for Homicide

Seattle police homicide detectives are requesting the public’s assistance in locating Ayub S. Mohamed, also known as “IU,” who is wanted in connection with a homicide earlier this month.

Mohamed is a 28-year-old black male, approximately 6’1″ tall, weighing 230 lbs., with a heavy build, and dark hair. He is wanted for the shooting homicide of David Chuyeshkov, which occurred on April 2, near the 1100 block of Summit Avenue, in Seattle, WA.

Homicide detectives are investigating a shooting that left a man dead early Wednesday morning in the First Hill neighborhood.

Officers responded to an apartment complex in the 1200 block of Seneca Street shortly before 2:00 a.m. after receiving a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, they found a 40-year-old man inside a unit suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers attempted life-saving measures until Seattle Fire Department personnel arrived, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The suspect fled the scene shortly after the shooting and is currently not in custody.

Homicide detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
