2025-114733/West Precinct/Third Watch/M3:
At 1816 hours, a female victim went to pick up her fast-food order at a restaurant at 3rd Avenue and Pike Street. When she showed the cashier the order number on her phone, an uninvolved white male bystander used bias language towards the victim, accused her of not speaking English and threatened to kill her. The victim attempted to walk away, but the suspect followed her until she was able to walk back to her nearby apartment and call 911. Area check for suspect negative.
2025-114727/North Precinct/Second Watch/U1:
At 1830 hours, GIU detectives with the assistance of North Patrol officers rapidly coordinated an operation to arrest several people who were attempting to use the victim’s stolen identity to purchase a vehicle. The suspects arrived in a stolen vehicle, that had been fraudulently procured from another dealership. After arriving, the main suspect entered the business, while the females remained with the vehicle, a second male appeared to be a lookout near the front door. Officers moved in, secured the stolen vehicle with its two occupants, took the lookout into custody and recovered a handgun. After these three suspects were secure, a team moved in and took the main suspect into custody. The two male suspects were booked into KCJ for ID Theft, Forgery, UPFA and PSV.
