
Seattle police are investigating a shooting that injured an 8-year-old boy and a 76-year-old woman Thursday evening in the Rainier Beach neighborhood.
Shortly after 7:00 p.m., dispatchers received reports of gunfire at Be’er Sheva Park in the 8700 block of Seward Park Avenue South. Officers arrived and found a child with a grazing wound to his jaw. Seattle Fire Department treated her before her parent took her to a hospital.
The second victim later arrived at a nearby fire station with a gunshot wound. Medics treated her, and she later transported herself to Harborview Medical Center. Both victims had non-life-threatening injuries.
Detectives learned the suspect fired multiple shots from a vehicle on Seward Park Avenue South before fleeing the scene. No arrests have been made.
Gun Violence Reduction Unit detectives are working to determine the circumstances leading up to the shooting.
