2025-118246/East Precinct/Third Watch/E1:
At 0219 hours, officers were dispatched to a report of a threat. Dispatched remarks included the following information:1 MIN AGO, MALE PULLED GUN OUT ON A GROUP OF PEOPLE, NO INJ, L.S WALKING WB. Officers quickly located the suspect who was detained without incident, and a handgun was on his person. After multiple field show-ups with positive results from separate victims, it was determined that there was probable cause to arrest the suspect for four counts of assault in the 1st degree. While speaking to the suspect, he stated that his car was parked across the street, and it contained a rifle. The vehicle was located and found to be parked illegally and was ultimately towed. The rifle was removed as part of the inventory search.
2025-118212/West Precinct/Third Watch/K2:
At 0051 hours, officers on-viewed a disturbance involving numerous subjects outside of a nightclub in the 300 block of 2 AV S where a firearm was brandished. A suspect was arrested for felony harassment. A firearm was observed inside of a vehicle where the suspect was contacted. The vehicle is pending a warrant at the VPR.
2025-118497/Southwest Precinct/First Watch/W2:
At 1107 hours, officers responded to the report of a carjacking on the 4000 block of California Av SW. Upon contacting the victim, it was reported that their ex-boyfriend, with whom they had a court order against, had broken out the window of the vehicle. This was while the victim was driving, and three young children were in the vehicle. The victim stopped the vehicle, and the suspect entered. The victim exited out of fear and the suspect took the vehicle with the children still inside. While Officers were with the victim a uniformed Officer working at a community outreach event heard the call. He observed the vehicle at a gas station just inside the county. The suspect had exited the vehicle and went inside. The Officer updated the radio and when the suspect exited, he was contacted. The suspect fled on foot and a foot chase ensued. Another unit found the children safe inside the vehicle. The suspect was apprehended a short time later and was booked into KCJ for the order violation, carjacking, and kidnapping. The victim was reunited with her children.
2025-118392/North Precinct/First Watch/U3:
At 0827 hours, officers responded to a call in the 6800 block of 62 Ave NE. The call was for an active DV assault with 4 children in the unit. Officers arrived and were able to get most of the occupants of the unit safely outside. The suspect remained inside, and it became a barricaded incident. Officers determined there was an active court order in place for the parties involved. HNT responded and attempted to get the suspect to surrender. Family members attempted to assist with securing the surrender of the suspect but were unsuccessful. A warrant was requested and granted for the entry and arrest of the suspect. The suspect had armed himself with a knife and was no longer responding to dialogue. SWAT arrived and the suspect surrendered without further incident.
