Seattle police want to thank the community whose tips led to the arrest of a 43-year-old man on Monday afternoon. Many people contacted SPD with information that also helped detectives in the Traffic Collision Investigation Squad find the motorcycle involved in the collision.
Police transported the suspect to Harborview Medical Center for an unrelated medical issue. He will be booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Hit and Run (Fatality), Vehicular Homicide, and Vehicular Assault.

Detectives have recovered and are releasing photographs taken by a Metro bus in the area.
The motorcycle appears to be a 1988-1999 Honda Goldwing GL1500.

On April 20, the 57-year-old victim succumbed to her injuries and doctors pronounced her deceased.

Seattle police officers are investigating a hit and run injury collision involving a red motorcycle in South Seattle this evening.
At about 8:20 p.m., patrol officers responded to reports of a collision involving two pedestrians at Martin Luther King Junior Way South (MLK) and South Alaska Street. Police arrived and located the victims, a 59-year-old man and a 57-year-old woman.
The Seattle Fire Department (SFD) responded with police and provided medical treatment to the victims. An American Medical Response crew transported the man to Harborview Medical Center (HMC) in stable condition. SFD paramedics transported the unconscious woman to HMC in critical condition, she suffered significant head trauma.
Police determined the motorcycle, traveling southbound on MLK, struck the pedestrians while they were walking in the crosswalk. The motorcyclist ran from the scene before police arrived and is currently outstanding.
Detectives with the Traffic Collision Investigation Squad will be assigned to this case. If anyone has information regarding the identity or location of the motorcyclist, please call 911 immediately.
