
Seattle police detectives are investigating after two men were injured in a shooting in Downtown Seattle this morning.
At about 2:30 p.m., patrol officers were in the 300 block of 2nd Avenue South when they saw a group of people fighting outside of a local nightclub. During this incident, the officers saw a shooting occur and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound (GSW).
Officers provided medical aid to the victim, applying a torniquet to his leg. The Seattle Fire Department (SFD) arrived and provided further medical treatment. SFD transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center (HMC) in stable condition.
Simultaneously, police detained two suspects for questioning and recovered a firearm. They conducted a K9 track for evidence yet were unable to locate the second gun, believed to have been used in the shooting.
While investigating, a victim arrived at Swedish Hospital in First Hill with a GSW to the lower back. SFD transported him to HMC due to his injuries. Police determined that the man was injured in the Downtown shooting.
Officers cordoned off the area and detectives in the Gun Violence Reduction Unit responded to process the scene. The circumstances leading up to the shooting are under investigation.
