
A 23-year-old man driving a vehicle struck and fatally injured a 60-year-old man Thursday night in the South Park neighborhood.
Officers responded to the intersection of 14th Avenue South and South Henderson Street at 11:00 p.m. after receiving reports of a collision involving a pedestrian. When they arrived, they found the man with serious injuries. Despite life-saving efforts by Seattle Fire Department medics, the man died at the scene.
Police officers secured the area and detectives with the Traffic Collision Investigation Squad (TCIS) responded to process the scene.
Detectives determined the pedestrian had been crossing 14th Avenue South when the vehicle hit him. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with officers. Police found no signs of impairment.
