#2025-134762/West Precinct/Second Watch/M3:
At 1000 hours, a group of approximately 100 protesters gathered at Westlake Park and marched to the Convention Center where Microsoft was holding a convention. Several protesters attempted to push past security and used bicycle fencing to break the glass doors on the east side of the building. CRG Bike Patrol officers assisted and took one subject into custody for attempted burglary. During the arrest, several protesters surrounded officers, and a “help” was put out over radio. Very quickly on scene officers and responding west patrol were able to deescalate the situation and return to a normal police posture of just monitoring the crowd. Subject was booked into KCJ. Car 21 was notified of the event.
#2025-135257/Southwest Precinct/Second Watch/W1:
At 1821 hours, officers responded to shots fired in the area of 30th Av SW/SW Findlay St. Officers were already on a directed patrol in the area; therefore, the response was almost immediate. The complainants reported hearing one shot. The complainant looked out of the window of their residence and observed two people walking away from the scene. Officers responding to the area located the suspects a short distance away and conducted a terry stop. The female suspect was in possession of an unregistered firearm. The female suspect was placed under arrest for possession of the firearm while the male suspect was placed under arrest for several outstanding warrants. Both suspects were booked into KCJ. The firearm was recovered and placed into evidence, along with one shell casing recovered at the shooting scene. There were no injuries, nor was there damage to property as the shooting scene was in the area of large, wooded area with embankments surrounding the immediate area.
