#2025-138791/Southwest Precinct/Third Watch/W2:
At 0149 hours, an 81-year-old female was inside her business located at the 4500 BLK of California Ave SW. The female heard glass break on the 2nd floor of the business. The female exited the business and called 911. Officers quickly arrived and saw the suspect running Northbound in the alley. An officer on scene while trying to detain the suspect was in a collision. The officer was checked by SFD and transported to the hospital by SPD. The suspect cut his hand while committing the burglary, and there were bloody fingerprints inside the window of the business. Containment was set up and a KCSO K9 responded to the scene and conducted a track. The suspect was located and placed in custody. The suspect eventually will be booked in KCJ. The officer was discharged from the hospital. Guardian 1 wasn’t in service. The Latent Print Unit responded to the scene and lifted prints. 253 was advised of the incident.
#2025-137923/North Precinct/Second Watch/J2:
At 0100 hours, officers were dispatched to a bias call in John sector. The victim reported to officers that at approximately 0100 hours this morning the suspect approached his front door and ripped his pride flag off the mounted flagpole it was attached to. The suspects action also caused the flagpole to rip off the mount, thus causing damage to his property. 222 was notified of incident.
#2025-139204/West Precinct/Second Watch/Q2:
At 1151 hours, residents in the 1000 block of W Galor St. reported hearing an explosion which was accompanied by thick black smoke from the encampment in the greenbelt below. Officers and fire arrived on scene to find a small fire within an open space in the encampment. Upon approach, several smaller explosions could be heard near/ within the encampment. SFD extinguished the fire, subsequently allowing officers to canvas the area for victims. No victims were located and no additional damage or injuries identified on scene. Officers determined that the explosions were from small propane tanks and that there was no suspected foul play.
#2025-139769/Southwest Precinct/Third Watch/W3:
At 2040 hours, we received a call from the victim stating that the suspect had taken her car keys and had a kitchen knife to his throat saying that he would kill himself if she took the children and left. Further investigation led us to learn that the day before the suspect had threatened to kill the victim. The victim had advised SPD she had locked herself and two children in the back bedroom. The victim stated she could hear the suspect on the phone telling whoever it was he was going to have to kill her. HNT, SWAT, and K9 responded. SWAT was able to use a ladder and remove the victim and children from the bedroom window. A search warrant was completed, and SWAT was able to take the suspect into custody without incident. The suspect was booked into KCJ for Felony Harassment.
