Detectives Investigating Robbery, Shooting in South Seattle

Seattle police detectives are investigating after two people were shot during an attempted robbery in South Seattle Friday night.

On May 23, just before midnight, patrol officers responded to reports of a woman and her friend shot near Beacon Avenue South and South Fletcher Street. Officers located the victims and provided them medical treatment. The man suffered a gunshot wound to the leg, and the bullet grazed the woman’s arm.

The Seattle Fire Department (SFD) arrived and continued treating the victims. SFD transported the man to Harborview Medical Center (HMC) in stable condition. The woman declined further treatment.

Police determined that the victims were inside of a vehicle when they were approached by suspect demanding money. The suspect pistol whipped the woman and fired at least one shot, injuring them both. The suspect left the area before police arrived.

Detectives in the Robbery Unit responded to the scene and HMC. If anyone has information, they are asked to call the SPD Violent Crimes Tip Line at 206-233-5000.
