#2025-168050/East Precinct/Third Watch/G1:
At 2238 hours, officers responded to a domestic violence (DV) assault in the East Precinct area. Officers promptly arrived on scene to render aid to the victim who had exited the apartment. During that time, other officers formed a contact team in the hallway of the victim’s unit and attempted verbal de-escalation via dialogue with the suspect. Probable cause for DV assault, felony Harassment, and Unlawful Imprisonment were developed for the suspect who was still in the victim’s apartment and appeared to have barricaded himself. A consent to search form was completed by the victim and officers continued with verbal de-escalation but were unsuccessful. Patrol K9, Crisis Intervention Team, and the Hostage Negotiation Team were all requested to the scene. After a significant period of unsuccessful verbal de-escalation, officers entered the unit and arrested the suspect. Police booked him into KCJ for the crimes. 213 was notified of the incident.
