On June 18, detectives from Seattle Police Department’s Gun Violence Reduction Unit located and arrested a suspect, Sedric Stevenson, at a residence in Seattle. The detectives are assigned to the U.S. Marshals Task Force.
Stevenson had been on the run since May 5, when he escaped during a transfer at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. He had fled the terminal and boarded a light rail train into the city.
SPD detectives arrested him without incident. They booked him into King County Jail, and he is being held pending extradition to Kentucky under a governor’s warrant.
This arrest reflects strong cooperation between SPD and the U.S. Marshals Task Force to ensure that escaped fugitives wanted on out-of-state warrants are safely and swiftly apprehended.
