Police Investigate Stabbing in First Hill Neighborhood

Seattle police are investigating A stabbing that seriously injured a man late Tuesday night in the First Hill neighborhood.

At 9:50 p.m., a 911 caller reported a stabbing near the 600 block of Terry Avenue. Officers arrived and found an adult man with a stab wound to his torso. They provided lifesaving aid until Seattle Fire Department medics arrived and transported him to Harborview Medical Center. He remained in serious but stable condition.

According to witnesses the victim was standing outside a gas station when an adult man and woman approached while arguing. The man went inside the gas station alone. When he came back out, he saw the woman stabbed the victim in the chest. The woman fled the scene shortly after the stabbing.

Officers found the adult female suspect a short time later near the 700 block of Cherry Street and took her into custody without incident.

Detectives from the Homicide and Assault Unit are leading the investigation and are working to determine what led up to the stabbing. Police booked the woman into King County Jail for investigation of assault.
