Seattle police detectives are investigating a shooting that left one victim injured in the First Hill neighborhood this afternoon.
At about 10:40 a.m., patrol officers responded to reports of a shooting near Broadway and East Fir Street. Officers located a man with a graze wound on his forehead. The Seattle Fire Department (SFD) provided medical treatment. SFD transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition.
Police had initially responded to a report of a robbery but determined that a robbery did not occur. A group of young adults got into a physical altercation and one of the involved parties got shot. Police searched a nearby building for the suspect, yet they did not locate him.
The circumstances leading up to the shooting are under investigation. Detectives in the Gun Violence Reduction Unit will be assigned to this case.
