#2025-215053/South Precinct/Second Watch/O1:

At 1347 hours, an officer responding to a priority call was involved in a collision with a King County Metro bus. The officer was traveling westbound on S. Holgate St with his emergency equipment activated to include lights and siren. He came to the intersection 6 Av S/S Holgate St and stopped to ensure the intersection was clear before entering. As the officer entered the intersection that was clear prior to his entering, a Metro bus travelling northbound struck his patrol vehicle. The patrol vehicle was struck twice by the bus as it spun down the side of the bus. The bus driver stated that he did not hear or see the emergency lights of the patrol vehicle until the patrol vehicle was nearly across the intersection. The officer was transported to Harborview Medical Center for medical evaluation of minor injuries.

#2025-214943/West Precinct/Second Watch/G1:

At 1219 hours, Seattle Police Officers assisted Animal Control with executing a search warrant for a subject who was suspected of performing unlicensed medical procedures on a pet cat leading to its untimely death. During the execution of the warrant, it was revealed that this suspect was also keeping approximately eighteen additional cats at the residence without providing proper care for them. Probable cause for animal cruelty 1st Degree was developed due to the harsh living conditions of the animals and the circumstances surrounding the deceased cat’s death. This resulted in the suspect’s arrest and booking into the King County Jail. The remaining cats were soon after rescued from the scene by animal control and placed in a nearby shelter for medical assessment and future placement. This incident remains under investigation by animal control and SPD.

#2025-215401/Southwest Precinct/Third Watch/W1:

At 1909 hours, SW Patrol responded to a report of suspicious fire in a restroom at a business on Alki Ave SW. SFD had already left the scene and SFD Fire Marshall 5 declined to respond. The owner estimates the damage to be near $6-10k. ABS and 253 were notified of the incident.

#2025-214605/North Precinct/Second Watch/L2:

At 0900 hours, GIU detectives and North Patrol participated in a retail theft operation in the North Precinct. Detectives teamed with loss prevention representatives from TJ Max to identify and then apprehend shoplifters. 4 arrests were made and the recovery of hundreds of dollars of stolen merchandise. This was a team effort between GIU detectives, patrol, and partnership with the loss prevention employees at TJ Max.
