Seattle Police detectives are investigating a Homicide in South Seattle this morning.
At about 4:10 a.m., patrol officers responded to a shooting at 1st Avenue South and South Dakota Street. There, officers found a juvenile shot in his leg and another male shot in the chest. Police provided medical aid to the injured until the Seattle Fire Department (SFD) arrived and took over care.
SFD transported both victims to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition. Despite all life-saving efforts, doctors pronounced the male shot in the chest deceased. The juvenile is expected to survive.
Officers transported an involved man to Seattle Police Headquarters to be interviewed by homicide detectives.
Police cordoned off the area and the Homicide and Crime Scene Investigation Units responded to process the scene.
Officers recovered firearms at the scene. The circumstances leading up to the shooting are under investigation.
