Seattle police are investigating a shooting that seriously injured a man early Saturday morning in the Queen Anne neighborhood.
At 1:52 a.m., officers responded to reports of gunfire near Bhy Kracke Park in the 1200 block of 5th Avenue North. They located a disabled vehicle occupied by two people and conducted a high-risk stop. One occupant, an adult male, had multiple gunshot wounds to the leg.
Officers provided aid until Seattle Fire Department medics arrived and transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center in serious but stable condition.
Multiple witnesses either remained at the scene or returned after initially fleeing during the gunfire. Officers recovered evidence at the scene, including a Glock pistol modified to fire fully automatic.
Several individuals were transported to SPD headquarters for interviews. Detectives from the Gun Violence Reduction Unit responded to assist with evidence collection and interviews. No suspect has been taken into custody at this time.
The circumstances leading up to the shooting remain under investigation.
