Police Investigating Shooting in North Seattle

Seattle police officers are investigating the shooting of a 32-year-old man in North Seattle this morning.

Just after 1:00 a.m., patrol officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 12500 block of Aurora Avenue North by the Jack in the Box. Officers found blood on the ground but did not find any victims. Those involved left the area before the police arrived.

While investigating, officers found multiple shell casings, processed the scene, and collected evidence.

Shortly after, officers were alerted to a car crash at the Emergency Room ramp at Harborview Medical Center (HMC). Police found the driver, on the ground outside of his car, in serious condition with a gunshot wound in his leg. Medical staff came out with a gurney and brought him inside of HMC for treatment.

Police recovered a gun holster from the victim, and a handgun from inside of his car. Officers later towed his car to the Vehicle Processing Room as it had bullet damage to the passenger side.

Seattle police believe the victim is related to the Aurora shooting.
