A 17-year-old boy was shot in the leg Saturday night following an altercation in the Ravenna neighborhood.
Officers responded to reports of gunfire around 8:23 p.m. in the 1300 block of Northeast Ravenna Boulevard. They found the teen lying in the roadway with a gunshot wound to the leg.
Seattle Fire Department medics treated the victim, and he was transported to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition.
The teen and a friend were walking to their car after a concert at Cowen Park when they were approached by two unknown men. There was an altercation before one of the suspects shot the teen and both fled the scene.
The victim was initially uncooperative but later told officers he had never seen the suspects before. He said he swung at one of them during the attempted robbery before being shot. His friend ran during the incident and returned after the suspects left the scene.
Police are continuing to investigate and will determine what led up to the shooting.
