Police Investigating Drive-By Shooting in Queen Anne

Seattle police officers are investigating a drive-by shooting in Queen Anne this morning.

On Sept. 25, at about 12:40 a.m., patrol officers responded to a shooting in the 500 block of Queen Anne Avenue North. Officers did not find any victims, nor did they find any property damage. Yet, police found multiple shell casings in the area.

While investigating, officers initiated a high-risk traffic stop at 5th Avenue North and Broad Street on a car matching the description of one of the vehicles seen fleeing the scene. “The vehicle appeared to have 5 suspected gunshots on the driver side and one casing was located on the tire,” according to the police report.

Police detained three occupants inside of the car for questioning. The men declined to provide statements to officers, and the officers did not make any arrests. Police impounded their car to the Vehicle Processing Room pending a search warrant for evidence.

Detectives in the Gun Violence Reduction Unit are assigned to this case. Anyone with information is asked to call the SPD Violent Crimes Tip Line at 206-233-5000. Anonymous tips are accepted.
