Detectives Investigating Shooting in South Seattle

Seattle police detectives are investigating a shooting in South Seattle last night that injured a 41-year-old man.

On Sept. 25, at about 9:30 p.m., patrol officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 8700 block of Wabash Avenue South. There, officers found a victim with a gunshot wound to his upper left arm. The Seattle Fire Department (SFD) arrived and provided him with medical care.

SFD transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center in serious, but stable condition.

Police determined that the victim was sitting inside of a vehicle when a man, known to him, walked up to the car and shot him through the window before running away. The suspect fled the area in a vehicle before police arrived, and they did not find him.

Detectives in the Gun Violence Reduction Unit responded to process the scene and conduct interviews. They will take lead on this investigation.
