On Monday, Sept. 29, at 7:00 p.m., officers responded to a collision involving a pedestrian in the 5900 block of Aurora Avenue North, in Phinney Ridge neighborhood.
Officers arrived and found a 63-year-old man unconscious in the southbound lanes with critical injuries. Seattle Fire Department medics attempted lifesaving measures but pronounced the man deceased at the scene.
A 27-year-old woman driving the vehicle that struck the man remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Officers found no signs of impairment.
Detectives determined the man had been crossing westbound across Aurora Avenue North outside of a marked crosswalk when the vehicle hit him.
Detectives from the Traffic Collision Investigation Squad (TCIS) responded and processed the scene. The investigation remains open.
