At 0156 hours, a GSW walked into the hospital. During the time at the hospital, and after several statements by the victim that he was shot, the doctor’s stated that they could not confirm he had been shot. Approximately 2 hours later, a SGT on patrol was flagged down several blocks away about a welfare check/suspicious report of a relative. During that investigation, the subjects stated that they are from out of town and went to a local bar with tier relative and he boyfriend that they did not know. After they were done, they left and her relative left with her boyfriend. After a while she called to check on her intoxicated niece, and she sounded too intoxicated and could not tell where she was. After a location sharing, they located her in the parking lot behind the same hospital as the GSW walk-in semi-alert. They flagged down the SGT, and they all went to the location to check her welfare. Officers located the relative inside her vehicle with the doors and windows open, hanging out of the doorway. While officers contacted her, they observed an AR rifle on the floorboard with a substantial amount of blood. After speaking with her, officers determined that the GSW victim shot himself with the firearm as he was getting inside the vehicle to leave the club, and he was transported to the hospital for care. The suspect was found to be a convicted felon and had an active DOC warrant he was arrested for. At the time of this report, he is admitted to the hospital and will be booked on those charges after released. 243 was on scene, GVRU notified.
