Police Investigating Vehicle Collision Into Pedestrian

Seattle police are investigating a vehicle collision into a pedestrian Saturday night.

Oc Oct. 11, at 10:12 p.m., patrol officers responded to reports of a car hitting a pedestrian near North 105th Street and Aurora Avenue North. There, officers found an unconscious man, bleeding, in the middle of the roadway. Police provided him with medical aid until the Seattle Fire Department (SFD) arrived and continued treatment.

SFD transported the man to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition.

Officers found video footage of the incident. It showed the victim walking into the busy street for unknown reasons, avoiding several vehicles, before being struck by a car and thrown several feet into the air. The driver of the involved vehicle remained on scene and cooperated with police. Officers detected no signs of impairment, and they did not arrest him.

Follow-up investigation will be handled by the Traffic Collision Investigation Squad.
