Police arrest man for drive-by shooting early Sunday morning in Pioneer Square neighborhood.
At about 1:37 a.m., officers in the 300 block of 2nd Avenue South heard gunfire coming from a nearby parking lot. Officers responded, cleared the area, and found evidence and two damaged vehicles.
A nearby Tesla captured the incident on video. The footage showed a man crouching behind a vehicle and firing a gun before running to a white Mercedes-Benz sedan and driving away.
About an hour later, a security guard reported seeing the same individual and vehicle in a nearby alley. Officers located the 21-year-old man in the driver’s seat and took him into custody without incident.
Police seized two vehicles connected to the incident and transported them to the Vehicle Processing Room (VPR) pending search warrants.
The suspect was booked into King County Jail for investigation of drive-by shooting and unlawful possession of a firearm.
