DUI Driver Arrested After Crashing Stolen Truck, Running From Cops

Seattle police officers arrested a 31-year-old man for crashing a stolen truck and running from the cops in West Seattle last night.

On Nov. 6, at about 11:30 p.m., a patrol officer near Fauntleroy Way Southwest and Southwest Juneau Street saw a truck driving at a high rate-of-speed, then slide off of the wet roadway and crash into a tree.

When the officer approached the vehicle, the driver ran from the crash scene. Officers caught him after a brief foot chase and arrested him. The suspect displayed signs of alcohol impairment.  

The truck’s ignition had damage, and officers found a pair of plyers on the floorboard. While investigating, police determined the truck was reported stolen out of Tukwila, WA. Police impounded the vehicle.

While in custody, the suspect kicked the cop car’s partition and made shooting threats towards the officers. Police took him to a nearby hospital for a search warrant for blood/alcohol evidence.

Once completed, officers booked him into jail for multiple crimes:

  • Possession of a Stolen Vehicle
  • Driving Under the Influence
  • Hit and Run
  • Obstructing a Police Officer
  • Reckless Driving
  • Driving While License Suspended
  • Harassment

Detectives in the General Investigations Unit are assigned to this case.
