At 0901 hours, dispatch received multiple callers reporting hearing shots in the Seward Park area. Officers located multiple FCCs in the upper loop of Seward Park. There were no injuries or property damage located. No one witnessed the shooting. GVRU was notified and patrol processed the scene.
#2025-328946/Southwest Precinct/First Watch/F2:
At 0837 hours, officers responded to reports of an assault with a firearm near 16 Av SW/SW Barton St. The victim stated that while jogging, he was approached by several subjects near an RV. Unprovoked, the suspect struck him on the side of the head with a handgun, then fired a couple of shots in the air. Field show-up was negative. Officers located shell casings near the RV parked on 16 Av SW/SW Barton St. Suspect description was WM, 40-50 years old. This incident was screened with GVRU.
#2025-329315/West Precinct/Second Watch/D3:
At 1623 hours, officers were dispatched to the 400blk of Terry AV N for a male chasing people with a large kitchen knife. Multiple community members were reporting seeing a male running around with a knife. Per witnesses, the suspect started chasing a victim while yelling threats while holding the knife. The victim ran and was able to get away from the suspect. The suspect focused his assaultive behavior on another random victim and began chasing the new victim. When officers arrived on scene, they apprehended the suspect without incident. The suspect was experiencing crisis like behavior. None of the victims knew the suspect and were randomly chosen. No injuries were reported. A large kitchen knife was recovered at the scene. The suspect was booked into KCJ for felony assault.
