Seattle police officers arrested a 44-year-old woman after she stabbed a man during a road rage incident in Downtown Seattle this afternoon.
At about 2:55 p.m., patrol officers responded to reports of a stabbing at the intersection of 7th Avenue and Madison Street. There, they found a 51-year-old man suffering from a stab wound to his neck.
Police determined that the road rage incident originated on the I-5 freeway and continued until it reached 7th and Madison. There, the suspect exited her vehicle and got into a verbal altercation with the victim, who also exited his car.
During the incident, the suspect, who initiated the altercation, retreated back to her vehicle as the victim approached her, continuing to argue with her. As he reached her driver’s side window, the suspect thrust a knife, described as a “multi-tool” into his neck, seriously injuring him.
The victim stumbled around the street before flagging down a passing AMR ambulance. The Seattle Fire Department treated the victim on scene and medics transported him to Harborview Medical Center for potentially life-threatening injuries.
The suspect remained on scene until the police arrived, and officers arrested her without incident. Police booked her into the King County Jail for Investigation of Assault.
