#2025-375915/East Precinct/First Watch/E2

At 0630 hours, officers were dispatched to 800 block East Pike Street to assist with traffic control at the scene of a fire. Fire Marshall 5 was on scene and stated, the fire was started by a piece of cardboard leaning against the building. The Fire Marshall initially considered the fire to be the accidental result of a warming fire but later classified it as Arson due to a recent pattern of similar fires in business alcoves.

At 1630 hours, a shoplift at a grocery store was interrupted by a security guard. As the suspects were leaving, the male displayed a firearm to the victim and used racial slurs. The suspects then left on a bus but were not located. 232 was notified.  

#2025-376297/West Precinct/Third Watch/Q3

At 2035 hours, hotel workers called 911 to report a guest threatening to assault other guests in a neighboring unit because they were talking to him through the wall. Patrol responded and determined the guest making threats to be a suspect in a Burglary 1 in the North Precinct on 12/23. Further, the neighboring unit was unoccupied, and no one had been talking through the walls. The hotel asked officers to remove the suspect from the property when he refused to leave on his own. Officers made entry into the suspect’s room and a struggle ensued, an officer was assaulted, and the suspect was taken into custody. After being declined at KCJ and cleared at HMC, the suspect was booked for Burglary, Malicious Mischief, and Assault 3. Incident screened with 213.
