#2026-009637/South Precinct/Third Watch/S3

At 0007 hours, South officers observed a vehicle committing traffic violations near Rainier Avenue South and Seward Park Avenue South. Officers initiated a traffic stop for a stop sign violation and driving while license suspended in the third degree. During contact with the driver, he directed racial slurs toward an officer and subsequently assaulted the officer.   The driver was taken into custody and arrested for investigation of a hate crime offense.  

#2026-009729/West Precinct/Third Watch/Q2

At 0243 hours, complainants called 911 to report that they heard and even saw shots being fired at 9th Avenue/ Fir Street. Officers arrived but didn’t locate any casings or property damage. According to one witness the suspect shot at an apartment building, but officers didn’t locate any damage.    

#2026-009766/South Precinct/Third Watch/R3

At 0352 hours, calls started coming into 911 dispatchers regarding shots having been heard. Officers located evidence near the intersection of 42nd Avenue South and South Snoqualmie Street. No victims or damaged property were located. On scene officers photographed and processed the scene.

#2026-010060/East Precinct/Second Watch/C3

At 1257 hours, officers responded to the 3000 block of East Union Street for a report of a vehicle collision to a house. Officers arrived on scene and observed a vehicle bridging the gap between a retaining wall and the second floor of a residence. The vehicle was approximately 6-7 feet off the ground. Officers observed an elderly female in the driver’s seat. Seattle Fire Department arrived and braced the vehicle before removing the woman from the vehicle. She was assessed on scene medically and declined to be transported to a hospital at the time as she did not have any visible injuries. She was assessed for impairment but did not exhibit any indications. She was later transported to Swedish Cherry Hill by her family members. After numerous attempts by a tow truck company, a wrecker capable of extracting the vehicle arrived on scene and successfully removed the vehicle from the home. The homeowners were notified of the collision and were working on securing the damage to the second-floor window. Officers completed a collision report.  

#2026-010263/South Precinct/Second Watch/R1

At 1808 hours, officers responded to the VA Hospital about an at-risk/missing person who walked out of the hospital on 1/10/2026 at approximately 0100 hours. Several officers (2nd & 3rd Watch) along with a King County Sherriff Office drone operator responded to the scene to conduct a search in attempt to locate the subject. T.E.S.U was contacted and an emergency “ping” for the subject phone was completed. A detailed area check was completed but the subject was not located at this time.
