#2026-16865/West Precinct/First Watch/D3:
At 0728 hours, the incident occurred at a Starbucks 442 Terry Av N. The suspect pushed an employee, went toward the cash register, and tried to smash it open. The suspect fled on foot after unsuccessfully attempting to open the cash register. Officers responded and located the suspect near Denny Park. The victim positively ID the suspect. The suspect was booked into KCJ for Investigation of Robbery. SPD Robbery Unit was advised.
#2026-16853/South Precinct/First Watch/S3:
At 0649 hours, an officer on routine patrol on-viewed a vehicle traveling SB on Rainier Ave & 51 Ave S. The vehicle struck a raised median and flipped on its side. A large contingent of SFD personnel responded to the scene and used rescue tools to extract the trapped occupant. Once the uninjured driver was taken out of the vehicle, officers conducted a DUI investigation and determined he was DUI. The driver was arrested and transported to HMC via AMR as a precaution. Officers are applying for a search warrant for blood as of this writing.
#2026-16962/Wes Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1300 hours, officers responded to a planned permitted demonstration at the Federal Building. The group of about 300 people were part of the National Union for Democracy in Iran. The group gave speeches and marched with assistance from patrol. Two community members attempted to disrupt the peaceful demonstration with a bullhorn and whistle. Police stayed in the area to ensure the safety of all. No property destruction or assaults reported.
#2026-17300/North Precinct/Second Watch/U3:
At 1723 hours, two males armed with weapons approached the victim as he was parked out by the water. A struggle ensued over the victim’s backpack. The victim was assaulted and one of the suspects brandished a handgun. The backpack was taken along with the victim’s car keys. The victim stated he likely knew the suspect as someone he had attended school with. An area check for the suspect vehicle was negative. The suspect’s address was checked, also with negative results at this time.
