At 01234 hours, officers were dispatched to a “help” the firefighter. The suspect had lit a fire in the park. SFD responded and began putting the fire out. The suspect became upset and hit the firefighter. Police arrested the suspect for assault and reckless burn.

At 2021 hours, SW Patrol responded to multiple calls of shots heard near 8800 8th Ave SW. Officers conducted an area check and located a scene inside of the south parking lot of Westcrest Park. The parking lot and park were empty; no suspects or victims were located on scene and police conducted a thorough search of the surrounding area. Evidence was recovered from the parking lot. GVRU was notified via email.
