At 0044 hours, a 911 caller reported a black SUV driving quickly with 4 masked occupants around Minor Ave and Olive St in the West Precinct (26-34508). The report indicated that the Black SUV had bags covering the plates of the vehicle, adding to the suspicion. Then, about 15 minutes later, a man called 911 to report that 4 people had tried to carjack him. The victim was parked at East Howell and Olive when the SUV drove up to him and the masked, gloved rear passenger got out of the vehicle. The suspect pointed a handgun at him while and demanded his vehicle and items. The victim declined, and the suspect got back into the vehicle heading NB on Bellevue. Officers checking the area located the vehicle at 10th Ave E and Roanoke St, where it eluded onto I5 Southbound. Washington State Patrol and King County Sheriff’s Office saw the vehicle near Tukwila but were unable to stop it. Event likely related to an Assault and Residential Burglary in Kent that took place 30 minutes before.
