A 34-year-old man was arrested for stabbing a 35-year-old man during an altercation in the Ballard neighborhood.
At 10:28 a.m., officers received reports of a stabbing in the 1400 block of Northwest Leary Way. Officers arrived and found a man outside the entrance of a business, suffering from a stab wound to the back. Police provided aid until Seattle Fire Department (SFD) arrived. SFD medics transported the man to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition with non-life threating injuries. The suspect was also evaluated by medics at the scene for a cut on his leg, before being arrested. Several knives were recovered from the suspect.
Witnesses said there was an altercation between the two men shortly before the stabbing.
Homicide and Assault Unit detectives will be handling the case and will work to determine what led to the stabbing.
The suspect was transported to Harborview Medical Center and is currently awaiting medical clearance. Once cleared he will be booked into King County Jail for investigation of assault.
