#2026-064518/West Precinct/Third Watch/D1

At Just after midnight, multiple 911 calls were received reporting street racers doing donuts and blocking traffic at the intersection of Denny WY / Broad ST. Officers coordinated a response to push the racers out of the area and towards I-5. Participants and attendees immediately fled upon officer’s arrival. RTCC uploaded footage of incident to Evidence.com. 213 on scene.

#2026-064521/East Precinct/Third Watch/E2

At 0105 hours, a 7-10 person fight between two groups of people broke out East of Broadway and E Pike St. Officers working nightlife premise were able to separate the groups. As one group was leaving Westbound, one of the men of the second group decided to re-initiate contact by assaulting another man. Officers apprehended the suspect in the middle of the intersection before he could flee.  The suspect who was arrested had a fugitive warrant from Texas for Felon in Possession of a Firearm. Booked for assault and Inv. Fugitive.

At 0949 hours, the victim, a staff member at shelter, in the 400 block of Minor Ave N, called 911 to report the suspect with a knife who threatened to kill him. According to the victim, the suspect saw the victim in the hallway, pulled out a kitchen knife, and told the victim that he would kill him. Officers arrived and found the suspect still armed with the knife. The suspect eventually dropped the knife and surrendered without incident. A knife was recovered. The suspect was booked into KCJ for Investigation of Harassment.

At 0919 hours, patrol responded to a report of a WWII-era grenade and a jar of unknown powder found during a home remodel. Likely left by a previous owner, both items were safely recovered by the Arson and Bomb Squad.

#2026-065278/North Precinct/Third Watch/U2

At 2108 hours, a group of five intoxicated individuals (two adults, and three juveniles) were in the U-District when they observed a small group of similar aged males. The female group initiated a group attack to rob the victims at knife point. Two of the males fled while three were struck multiple times and one sustained several lacerations to the head. The suspects fled on foot and officers located them a short distance away and were placed under arrest. Camera footage and witnesses identified each of the suspects as being involved in the robbery. During search incident to arrest, a knife was located inside one of the suspects backpacks.
