Seattle police officers arrested two men, armed with guns, after harassing a food service worker in Capitol Hill this weekend.
On April 11 at about 4:00 a.m., patrol officers responded to reports of armed men inside of a fast-food restaurant in the 1200 block of East Pike Street. There, officers detained two men, 21 and 28, for weapons violations and quickly recovered their guns.
Police determined that the suspects had previously ordered food yet were unhappy with their order. After leaving the area for a while, they returned and began arguing with one of the employees. “The conversation became ‘hostile’ and the suspects became more and more aggressive and began yelling,” according to the police report.
Seeing them with weapons, the employee pressed a duress alarm, alerting the police.
They first suspect, 21, armed with a short-barreled rifle and a 30-round magazine, appeared intoxicated. He also had a $5,000 DUI warrant for his arrest. The pistol belonging to the second suspect, 28, turned out to be a stolen gun out of Tacoma.
Officers arrested both suspects for harassment and multiple weapons offenses. Police booked them into the King County Jail.
