Seattle police officers arrested a 52-year-old man with an assault warrant, armed with a knife, in the Chinatown-International District this morning.
At about 1:20 a.m., a patrol officer spotted the suspect in the 600 block of 5th Avenue, “concealing what appeared to be a fixed blade knife in a self-made sheath on his hip,” according to the police report. The suspect tried to conceal the weapon while walking away.
Police detained the man for questioning and found that he had a $5,000 warrant for assault. They arrested him for the warrant and furtively carrying a dangerous weapon.
Officers booked the suspect into the King County Jail.
