Teen Arrested in Capitol Hill for Multiple Firearm Offenses

Seattle police officers arrested an armed 18-year-old early Monday for multiple firearm offenses following an incident in Capitol Hill.

On April 27, at around 3:30 a.m., a 911 operator received a call from a security guard in the 100 block of Broadway East. The security guard had overheard a man threatening to kill another man, screaming, and begging for his life. Officers found a man wearing a ski mask, running from the area, attempting to conceal an item in his waistband.

Officers detained the suspect for questioning and recovered a firearm with a destroyed serial number tucked in his waistband. He was later arrested. The victim was not located.

Police booked the suspect into the King County Jail for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Alteration of Identifying Marks, Furtively Carrying a Dangerous Weapon, and Carrying a Weapon Without a Permit.

Detectives in the Gun Violence Reduction Unit will be assigned to this case.
