At 0011 hours, alert tones were broadcast for the report of a non-injury shooting at an apartment complex near E Pine St and E Madison St. Officers arrived, and realized that the victim was involved in an incident the prior day where other apartment residents accused her of prowling vehicles, leading to a physical altercation and arrest. Tonight, she found a bullet hole in her children’s apartment window, fragments inside, and a casing outside. There were no eyewitnesses, but it is believed that an associate of the prior incident fired the shot within a 5-hour window. Suspect not located in building, may have fled in vehicle as officers arrived. GVRU on scene.

At 0157 hours, the victim was alone and asleep in his home. He woke up and had a sense that somebody was in his residence. Victim heard someone in his bathroom which caused him to yell. The suspect ran out of the bathroom and out of the house. Victim noticed his car key was missing from the front entryway table. His vehicle was taken. Victim realized he left his house keys in the locking mechanism of the front door, which the suspect used to gain entry. Vehicle verified stolen. Neighbors may have evidence of suspect on video.

At 2000 hours, a request was made from concerned community members, East Precinct and GIU worked together on a retail theft operation in the 1400 block of East John Street. Seven arrests made total (two felony arrests) and $600 worth of merchandise recovered.
