Woman Injured in North Beacon Hill Shooting 

Seattle police are investigating a shooting early Sunday morning on May 17 in the North Beacon Hill neighborhood that left a woman seriously injured.  

At about 5:58 a.m., officers responded to reports of shooting near 1700 block of South State Street. Officers arrived and found evidence of gunfire at the scene. Shortly after, an 18-year-old woman arrived at Harborview Medical Center (HMC) with a gunshot wound to the leg. She remains in stable but serious condition.     

The investigation revealed several young adults were attending a gathering at a residence when an unidentified male arrived in a vehicle. The suspect got into an altercation outside with the victim shortly before the shooting. The suspect left the area in an unknown direction before officers arrived.

Two people loaded the victim into a car and drove her to HMC. 

During the shooting, gunfire struck at least two vehicles. 

Detectives with the Gun Violence Reduction Unit will be leading the investigation and will work to determine what led to the shooting.
