At 2311 hours, officers were close by and responded to the location reference a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, the suspect was detained after a witness pointed him out. No firearm was located on the suspect’s person, and an initial canvass of the scene yielded no victims and no evidence. The investigation revealed the suspect was engaging in a narcotics transaction and the witness who initially pointed out the suspect to officers began fighting with the suspect, at which time, the suspect produces a firearm from his jacket pocket and appears to fire rounds towards the victim, who flees inside the store. The suspect follows the victim inside the store and conceals the handgun behind packages and leaves the store as officers are arriving on-scene. The handgun was recovered and was reported stolen out of SPD. The suspect was booked into KCJ for Possession of a Stolen Firearm, UPFA, and Assault 1.

At 0452 hours, officers responded to an armed robbery at a convenience store in R2. dispatch received report of a robbery convenience store in the 4800 block of Beacon Avenue South. Officers arrived and contacted two victims, a 55-year-old man and 24-year-old man. The investigation revealed that one of the victims was in the cooler and the other was behind the counter when the suspects entered the store. One victim exited the cooler to see what was happening. Then shut the door to the employee area and stayed there until it was safe to come out. The 24-year-old victim was behind the counter when the suspect pointed a firearm at him. The suspect had the victim open the cash register. The suspect then took the cash. One suspect stood at the main entry door with a handgun during the robbery. Both suspects exited the store and left in an unknown direction. The first suspect was described as a Hispanic or Black male, 20’s, medium build wearing a mask and gloves, with dark clothing. The second suspect was described as a Hispanic or Black male, 20’s, wearing a mask and gloves, with light color pants and dark shoes.

At 0432 hours, dispatch received report of a robbery convenience store in the 1600 block of Queen Anne Avenue North. Officers arrived and contacted a 25-year-old man. The victims stated the two entered the store and forced the victim behind the front counter. The suspects threatened the victim then took money from two cash register drawers. Shortly after the suspects left the scene in a dark colored sedan. One suspect was described as a Black male, 20’s, 6’2”, medium build wearing a mask and gloves, with dark clothing. The second suspect was described as a Black male, 6’, medium build wearing a mask and gloves, with dark clothing.

At 2304 hours, officers responded to several calls of shots fired in the area of 29 AV SW and SW Brandon St. Reports also indicated hearing a vehicle speed off from the scene after shots fired. Upon arrival, officers located evidence at the southeast corner of 29 AV SW and SW Brandon St. GVRU was not contacted.
