
Detectives are investigating a collision that left a 37 year old man dead early Tuesday morning.
On Tuesday morning around 12:44 a.m., 911 received a call from a bus driver who had found an injured man in the middle of the intersection near 24th Avenue Northwest and Northwest 85th Street.
Seattle Fire Department medics arrived and attempted lifesaving efforts but the 37-year-old man died at the scene.
During the investigation, police determined that the 37-year-old man was riding an electric scooter when he was struck by the driver of a mini-van driving westbound on Northwest 85th Street.
The 16-year-old driver returned to the scene and cooperated with investigators. A Drug Recognition Expert evaluated the driver but no signs of impairment were found.
Detectives with the Traffic Collision Investigation Squad are continuing to investigate the circumstances that led up to the collision.
