Homicide detectives are investigating a shooting that left a 28-year-old man deceased early Monday morning in the High Point neighborhood.
At 12:17 a.m., dispatch received reports of a gunshot victim being driven to the 2700 block of 1st Avenue South. Officers arrived and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.
Officers provided aid until Seattle Fire Department medics arrived. The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition. Despite lifesaving efforts, he died at the hospital.
Witnesses told police the shooting occurred in the 3100 block of Southwest Graham Street. A friend then drove the victim to the 2700 block of 1st Avenue South where officers contacted him.
Detectives from the Homicide Unit will work to determine the circumstances that led up to the shooting.
