At 0217 hours, two groups of individuals had been in a bar most of the evening. When the business closed, there was some sort of disturbance outside of the bar. One female approached a vehicle that had members of the other group inside and was holding a can of bear mace. The vehicle struck the female, throwing her in the air. The female’s friends that were in another vehicle grabbed her to put her into their vehicle, and at least the driver of the vehicle began shooting at the other vehicle. It is unknown if anyone was struck by gunfire. Both vehicles fled the scene. Local area hospitals were checked, but no victims showed up. Shell casings were located on the ground at the scene of the disturbance, photographed, and collected.

At 0446 hours, a known suspect assaulted the victim with a hatchet/Ax at 3 Ave/Jame St., for a suspected past theft. The suspect fled the scene prior to the officer’s arrival. The victim was transported to HMC via AMR. An extensive area check for the suspect yielded negative results.

At 1000 hours, a subject attempted to punch an officer as they were removing them from handcuffs at HMC, following a decline from KCJ. The officer was not struck/injured. The subject was placed under arrest for assault.

At 0756 hours, two employees pulled into the parking lot of their works place in the 6900 block of West Marginal Way SW. As they waited for the gate to close a newer white Jeep Grand Cherokee prevented the gate from closing and two B/M suspects in their late teens or early 20’s exited the Jeep and held both victims at gun point. One of the suspects had a firearm equipped with a switch. The suspects then escorted one of the victims inside of the business and took thousands of dollars worth of merchandise before fleeing the scene. The robbery unit responded to the scene as did the video and Latent print unit.

At 2120 hours, alert tones were broadcast for a stabbing at Cal Anderson Park. Initial reports were that a man had been stabbed in a large fight near the basketball courts. Officers arrived and rendered aid to the victim, finding that he had not been stabbed, but had instead been severely beaten. Witnesses provided almost no information that would lead to suspect apprehension. The victim’s family, who were in another part of the park, arrived and were upset. SFD transported the victim to HMC. About 20 minutes later, another call came in reporting a large-scale fight, with 10-15 people kicking and attacking a person on the ground in the park (26-231829). Officers responded again and met with a victim who had been assaulted. Based on the descriptions of suspects/location in park described by victim, it is believed that the family of the 1st victim assaulted him for potentially being involved in the initial incident.

At 2113 hours, a vehicle vs. building collision was broadcast near Minor E Roanoke ST/Minor AV E. Officers arrived on scene as the driver of the involved vehicle was being extricated by civilians. During the investigation the driver was placed in custody for DUI as well as Reckless Endangerment and transported to HMC for his injuries. The passenger of the vehicle and the occupants of the building were unharmed. A search warrant was executed, and the driver was released at HMC due to the severity of his injuries and having no prior DUIs.
