Detectives are investigating a 67-year-old man’s death after he was found in Westlake Park following a fight with another man.
On Thursday morning around 6:45 a.m., a passerby near Westlake Park called 911 and reported that two men were fighting and one was screaming for help. As officers were driving to the call, the witness noticed that one man was no longer moving.
Police arrived to the park and found the 67-year-old man with no pulse. They began lifesaving efforts until Seattle Fire Department medics arrived and declared the man dead.
Officers quickly located the other man, a 39-year-old, and took him into custody.
A nearby Real Time Crime Center camera captured footage of the incident and will be crucial in helping detectives with their investigation.
Detectives with the Homicide Unit, as well as CSI detectives, responded to the scene to investigate the circumstances that led up to the man’s death.
