A 38-year-old woman is in critical condition after she was struck by a Sound Transit Train in SODO on Thursday afternoon.
Around 2:30 p.m., 911 received multiple calls about a woman who had been struck by a train while attempting to cross the tracks. Seattle Police officers went to 2nd Avenue South and South Spokane Street, where they found the injured woman. Officers began life-saving efforts, until Seattle Fire Department medics arrived and transported the woman to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition.
The train was stopped and service was interrupted while officers and detectives investigated the collision scene.
Detectives with the Traffic Collision Investigation Squad will be responsible for the follow-up investigation.
